About Monica
Monica Garrett is a second-generation printmaker and artist. As an artist, Monica draws inspiration from the natural world as well as core memories of travels connected to her multi-cultural heritage. This connection, often expressed through colors and textures, straddles the line between delicate forms or organic earthy ones. Her prints and sculptures encompasses a deep appreciation of the world around in its rawest form, and is often laden with an ephemeral sense of quiet solitude.
She is on the Board of Directors for the Honolulu Printmakers and is the Assistant Manager of Studio Programs with the Honolulu Museum of Art. Monica seeks to broaden creative expression and human idea collaborations through promoting arts in the community. This is done through meaningful programming and education opportunities offered across multiple platforms and demographics. She supports artists and arts development throughout Hawai‘i.
